, as a dermatologist is to diagnose
malignant melanoma and other skin cancers early. Skin cancer
screening examinations are performed on most new patients.
I feel that it is my goal as a physician to identify and treat
these cancers as quickly as possible to prevent possible metastases
or internal spreading of these tumors. The rapid increase
in malignant melanoma, a potentially deadly skin cancer, due
to the loss of the ozone layer, is alarming. It has been estimated
that in ten years, one out of forty people will be diagnosed
with this cancer. When I first became a dermatologist in 1975,
these tumors were uncommon. Last year I diagnosed seven malignant
melanomas in one month.
It is also my mission to treat my patients with the most
effective treatment available with the lowest incidents of
side effects. My goal as a physician is to treat every patient
as if they were a member of my own family. Being a mother
of two children, allows me to relate to medical problems from
a parent’s perspective, and to clearly explain disease
to both children and adults.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my specialty is helping
patients look their best which makes them feel better about
themselves. We can help adults and teenagers with complexion
problems and skin problems due to the sun.
Cosmetic treatments offered that enhance lifestyle include
Botox, Collagen, Laser Hair Removal, Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion
I welcome new patients to make appointments for treatment
of skin diseases, screening for skin cancer or cosmetic procedure
consultation.
